The interview with Professor Luís Greco explores his academic career in Germany and his personal and intellectual relationship with Professor Claus Roxin. It highlights Roxin’s methodological influence, particularly with regard to case-driven theoretical construction and expository clarity as expressions of scientific rigor and intellectual generosity. On the doctrinal level, the focus is on the conception of criminal law as an instrument for guaranteeing freedom and peaceful social coexistence, setting aside moralizing aims. The interview also examines the process of drafting and updating the work "Criminal Law – General Part – Volume I," coauthored with Roxin, as well as its translation into Portuguese, addressing some of the challenges related to the tension between theoretical continuity and authorial autonomy. In the field of legal education, differences between the German and Brazilian models are analyzed. Finally, guidance is offered to young researchers, highlighting the importance of disciplined reading, reflective writing, and continuous intellectual development.
